Chiara Santarelli, born and raised in Rome, was since her childhood attracted to photography and its enchantments.

 

As a teenager, she moved to Germany where she discovered an international environment. Back in Rome she graduated from “Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza" in product and graphic design with an emphasis in visual art.

 

After completing her schooling, she spent some time in Rome where she worked as a art director at Social Beat, a local music label before deciding to move to Paris to work as an assistant photographer in fashion shootings. She soon realised she was more attracted to human nature than fashion ans she stared her career in portrait photography.

 

Collaborating as photographer for French and Italian magazines like Rivista Studio, ELLE DECOR, ELLE Italia, M le magazine du Monde, Black Rainbow, she focuses her attention on portraits and the fascinating exchange between the photographer and the subject of the photo.

 

Chiara currently resides in Paris where she works for clients like Benetton, RetroSuperFuture, AROP (Opéra de Paris), Ambassade D’Italie, Le Printemps, Galerie Perrotin, Kitsuné, Le 104, Hermès, Hennessy and Pernod Ricard.
